Abstract: |
The eigensensitivity analysis of structural features of a rotor plays a highly significant role in rotor design, operation and maintenance, and fault diagnosis.Due to the rotating gyroscope and the damping effect, the modal equation of a rotor’s structure presents a quadratic asymmetric eigenvalue problem. When the rotor structure is in whirl with repeated frequencies, the modal shapes are uncertain, and calculation of the eigensensitivity is very complex. This paper proposes a new method for calculating the eigensensitivity of a rotor’s structure with repeated frequencies. In the original problem’s solution space, the modal shape sensitivity is represented as the sum of a homogeneous solution and a particular solution.A non-singular system is constructed to obtain the particular solution, and then a general solution is derived based on the particular solution. This new method for calculating the eigensensitivity only requires eigenvalues and eigenvectors of interest, and does not need to expand the dimension of the system and rearrange the matrices, making it suitable for the analysis of large and complex rotor systems.Numerical examples demonstrate the effectiveness of the proposed method. |
