Abstract: |
The motion of flexible structures in the ocean often increases with the increase of mining depth and offshore distance, and this significant reciprocating motion makes vulnerable points of a structure prone to fatigue damage, greatly increasing the risk of failure. This paper considers the geometric nonlinearity of large displacement, large rotation, and small strain of marine flexible pipes and cables, and conducts structural dynamics analysis based on the corotational method.Firstly, the basic equation of motion for flexible pipes and cables is established based on the corotational method.Secondly is based on the Morison’s equation, the hydrodynamic effect is calculated to obtain the equation of motion for marine flexible pipes and cables, and the Newton Raphson method combined with the HHT method is applied to solve it.Finally,in numerical examples, the comparison between the proposed method and commercial software analysis shows that the proposed method can effectively be used for nonlinear dynamic analysis of marine flexible pipes and cables. |
