Abstract:
In order to simplify the design and analysis of the sloped extended end-plate connections in engineering structures, the restoring force model of the sloped beam-column extended end-plate connections is proposed on the basis of the Eurocode EC3 component method.Firstly, the component method is used to calculate the yield bearing capacity and rotational stiffness of the sloped extended end-plate connections, and the initial rotational stiffness is modified by considering the influence of sloped angle in the extended end-plate connections. The skeleton curves obtained from the tests are normalized, and a unified trifold skeleton curve model is obtained by a curve-fitting approach.Based on the regression analysis, the unloading stiffness degradation equation of the extended end-plate connection joints was determined. On this basis, the trilinear restoring force model of the sloped extended end-plate connections was established.According to the comparison between experimental results and FE analysis results, the accuracy of the restoring force model of this connection is verified, and the result can provide guidance for the engineering analysis of the sloped extended end-plate connections.
