Abstract:
The single span conductor of a tension section is taken as the research object.Based on Hamiltonian principle and incremental thermal field theory, the galloping equations of transmission lines are derived, which consider the effect of temperature on ice-covered conductor. The discrete in-plane and out-of-plane coupled finite dimensional galloping equations are obtained by using approximate and complex modes respectively, then the approximate solutions of the equations are obtained by using the multi-scale method.Numerical examples show that the influence of temperature on the natural frequency is related to the Irvine parameter, the influence on tension is related to the range of initial tension, and the cooling will increase the transverse amplitude of the conductor. The amplitude calculated by using the exact mode is significantly smaller than that calculated by using the approximate mode.
