Abstract: |
The gravity increase method has an inherent shortcoming that may result in a wrong safety value of the factor of safety or even fail to give an answer.In this study,the error source of the gravity increase method was quantitatively analyzed.The modified gravity increase method,was theoretically studied through mathematical derivation.The improvement of the modified gravity increase method was studied by applying the gravity increase method,strength reduction method,and the modified gravity increase method to slope models with different parameters.ACADS example was also introduced to prove that the modified gravity method was suitable for heterogeneous slopes.Moreover,a centrifuge model test was numerically analyzed using the modified and the non-modified gravity increase methods.By comparing the test data and calculation results,applicability of the modified gravity increase method in the simulation of centrifuge model tests was verified.Research of this paper will provide a theoretical basis for the use of the modified gravity increase method and also provide reference for relevant studies of the analysis of centrifuge model tests. |
