Abstract: |
Considering the characteristics of S-type and H-type vertical axis wind turbines,a new type lift-drag hybrid vertical axis wind turbine was designed,and its starting performance and aerodynamic performance were simulated by CFD method.The results show that the CFD results and experimental results of the original H-type rotor have good agreement during the range of calculation.The starting torque of the new type lift-drag hybrid vertical axis wind turbine is higher than that of the original H-type vertical axis wind turbine at every inflow azimuth,and the minimum and maximum starting torque were increased by 232% and 83.8% respectively.The output power of S-type rotor decreases with the increase of overlap ratio.and its output power is 0 when the overlap ratio is 1.The new type lift-drag hybrid vertical axis wind turbine achieves a maximum wind power coefficient of 0.298,and it has more complicated flow characteristics. |
