Abstract:
Traditional maximum story drift is a global performance index, the exceedance of certain global performance limit states does not give any information on how severely the local plastic hinges injured. This paper was based on energy balance principle, the ratio of plastic energy dissipation to total energy of plastic hinges is cumulative plastic strain.Regard cumulative plastic strain as engineering requirement parameters which reflects local injury status.Assumed a series of cumulative plastic strain threshold, local component fragility curves can be established.Regard maximum drift as engineering requirement parameter which reflects global performance limit states. To establish fragility curves based on global performance limit states.A good correlation between global performance states and local component injury status when compared global and local fragility curves. The cumulative plastic strain threshold can be get from the degree of coincidence between these two kinds of fragility curves. There will be a mapping relationship between global performance limit states and local injury status.Vulnerability analysis based on the cumulative plastic strain is a more accurate vulnerability analysis method.
