Abstract:
      A peridynamic rate-dependent constitutive equation is advanced based on the prototype microelastic brittle (PMB) model and the Kelvin-Voigt viscoelastic model.By means of the LAMMPS molecular dynamic code,we perform the simulations for the isotropic circular epoxy plate,the uni-directional composite laminate and the multi-directional composite laminate subjected to impact loading,and compare their impact resistance.Meanwhile,we analyze the damage on upper and lower surface of the multi-directional composite laminate subjected to impact loadings with various velocities.The results reveal the failure mechanism of composite laminate in the impacting process from low-velocity collision to high-velocity penetration.
