Abstract:
To research the improvement methods for dynamic responses of floating offshore wind turbine(FOWT), whole machine models for Spar platform supported FOWT were built to study the influence of helical strake on dynamic response. In order to study whether helical strake can improve the performance of FOWT, frequency-domain performances were gained to compare the structure with helical strake and the normal structure.Further study on dynamic performance of the structure under different water depth was carried out.The results show that the amplitude and wave force components of FOWT with helical strake are effectively suppressed. In addition, wave forces of heave motion are more apparently influenced by helical strake than surge and pitch motion.Besides, different water depth also affects the amplitude of structure performance.
