Abstract:
Ni indenter and Ag thin film are used to research the effect of indenter's crystalline anisotropy on nanoindentation by quasicontinuum method.Ni indenter in different crystal direction presses into Ag thin film, respectively. The atomic slips which triggered by different indenter are compared with each other.According to the result, the misfit dislocation is a very important factor to determine emission of atomic slip. The nanohardness of Ag thin film is calculated. The values of Ag hardness we got are the same when the crystal direction of Ni indenter is different. The normal stress and shear stress on the indenter surface is studied and the relationship between these stress and atomic slip in thin film is analyzed.
