Abstract:
      The inertia relief method is an approximate analysis method which has been used in aircraft design for obtaining the structural response of the free-free structure.In order to overcome the difficulties of the crashworthiness topology optimization problem,we apply the inertia relief method and improved inertia relief method in to the crashworthiness topology optimization.We combine the inertia relief method/ improved inertia relief method,the equivalent static load method and the hybrid cellular automaton method to propose a new hybrid approach which can be used in crashworthiness optimization problems and is more effective.The numerical results show that,the improved inertia relief method always obtains high accurate results,and the inertia relief method also obtains accurate results for some cases while is more convenient to use.The optimization examples show that the new hybrid approach can obtain better performance design of energy absorption and save the time cost of the optimization process at the same time.
