Abstract: |
The Finite Particle Method (FPM) is a new structural analysis method based on the Vector Mechanics. This paper explores the possibility of the proposed method being applied in collapse process analysis of double-layer reticulated domes subjected to impact loads.Taking the three dimensional bar element as an example, the theoretical fundamentals of the FPM are given. The formulations to calculate geometric and material nonlinear problems are derived. The fracture criterion, fracture model and corresponding algorithm are developed to simulate fracture of structural members. The collapse process of a double-layer reticulated dome subjected to impact loads is simulated and analyzed to demonstrate the applicability of this method in dynamic nonlinear analysis. |
