Abstract: |
A structural dynamics model for free variable-pitch vertical axis tidal turbine was established based on D'Alembert principle.Combining this model with viscous CFD method,a multi-body coupling numerical method for analyzing the hydrodynamics of free variable-pitch vertical axis tidal turbine was developed.Coupling algorithms results were compared with experiment results and non-coupling algorithms results,and the effect of self-starting,flow velocity,and load on the performance of the turbine were investigated.Studies have shown that: the developed algorithms can simulate the kinematical characteristics and dynamic characteristics of free variable-pitch vertical axis tidal turbine effectively in all kinds of unsteady process. |
