Abstract:
      To simulate the interaction between sloshing liquid and tank wall,mechanical equivalent models for hydrodynamic impact forces were studied.Based on the hybrid system theory,the piecewise affine systems model for strong nonlinear sloshing was developed.The study focused on a simplified model for rectangular tank.Numerical simulations were carried out for the strong nonlinear sloshing in rectangular tank,by using the computational fluid dynamics software Flow3D.Theoretically,the piecewise affine systems model is more suitable to describe the velocity jumps and rigid collision.The developed equivalent model provides an acceptable level of accuracy to predict hydrodynamic forces as compared with the Flow3D data,and the model can properly simulate liquid sloshing with strong nonlinearity.
