Abstract:
This paper presents a model reduction method for the structures whose longitudinal dimension is significantly larger than transverse one.By using the plane cross sectional assumption we generate a set of physical reduce base vectors and project the complicated FEM model of the structure into the space spanned by the base vectors. The resulting reduced model has clear physical meaning and can be applied for dynamic analysis of the structure under different boundary conditions. And the cross-sectional wrap deformation is also taken into consideration.A high accuracy reduced model is obtained by adding the warping mode base vectors for the structure with opening. Two numerical examples show the efficiency and validity of this method.
