Abstract:
Considering the uncertainties in structural system, the non-probabilistic reliability optimization method for structures is proposed based on the non-probabilistic set-theoretic model for structural reliability. In this method, the uncertainties are considered as interval numbers, and the non-probabilistic reliability of structures can be calculated by interval mathematics. Then the structural optimization problem,in which the non-probabilistic reliability index is taken as the constraint condition, can be solved through Lagrange multiplier method. The mass optimization for a truss structure is performed using the proposed method, and the optimization results illustrate its feasibility and effectiveness.
