Abstract:
A simplified model of pile vertical vibration is established considering the nonlinear behavior of soil in the vicinity of the pile disturbed by pile driving. An analytical solution is deduced in frequency domain by means of variable separating method and then a semi-analytical solution is obtained using numerical convolution method. Numerical results from the frequency domain and time domain indicated that the equivalent modulus of soil have major effect on pile dynamic response, as well as the radius of disturbed radial zone and the bearing coefficient of pile toe. It can also be concluded that the actual interaction of pile and soil will be weaken due to the disturbed radial zone caused by pile vibration. A conclusion can be deduced that the interaction of pile and soil is overestimated under the ideal undisturbed model. The presented model can reflect the phenomenon of soften and harden in the interaction of pile and soil better than the perfect contact model.
