Abstract: |
The deformation and breakup of liquid droplet is important in fuel explosive dispersal. In this paper, VOF method and standard k-ε turbulent flow model were combined to simulate the deformation and breakup of liquid droplet in air flow. Previous experiments were simulated with the new method, numerical results were in good agreement with experiments. On this basis, the influence of representative parameters on droplet breakup, such as Weber number, Ohnesorge number and density ratio of liquid to gas, were analyzed. Simulation results show that Weber number plays a catalytic role in deformation and breakup of droplet, while Ohnesorge number and density ratio of liquid to gas impede the breakup. |
