Abstract:
Local flexibility is one of the most important parameters for dynamic analysis and damage identification of the cracked structure. However, the solution for local flexibility coefficient of pipe due to a crack , is of limited use until now. The local flexibility equations of the pipe with a crack that straight front and part-through-the-thickness subjected to axial force, shearing force and bending moment were derived by using of theories of linear fracture mechanics. An adaptive Simpson quadrature-revisted was used to perform the numerical integration to obtain the flexibility coefficients. And then, the model test results conducted by Naniwadekar et al were used to validate the accuracy of the calculated local flexibility of cracked pipe. In additional, Explicit form formulas of the flexibility coefficient was best-fitted equations by the least-squares method, which is convenient for engineering application in fact.
