Abstract:
      The thermal response of functionally graded material (FGM) plates with vertical cracks has been investigated based on the strip element method (SEM). The material properties of the FGM plates vary continuously through the thickness. The thermal sources have been applied to the FGM plates with vertical cracks. The thermal responses are obtained by studying the different position of crack from heat source, different length cracks and different frequency of heat source. The thermal response studying for the FGM plates with vertical cracks using SEM provides some guidance for thermal problem.
