Abstract:
Based on the dynamical theories of water wave and Mindlin thick plates, the dynamical behaviors of a floating elastic plate in water of different depth are presented using the Wiener-Hopf technique for several different incident wave numbers. Firstly, the analytic solutions of wave-induced responses of floating plate for infinite depth case are constructed, thus the comparison between the present results and the results from other results (by classical thin plate theory) are presented and discussed. Secondly, the distributions of the bending moment in plates for three kinds of incident wave numbers are investigated. Finally, the wave-induced of floating plate for different depth cases (finite depth) are calculated by the method used in other literatures, and compared with the present results.
