Abstract:
The technique of active flutter suppression is one of the keys in designing aircraft in the future, but the traditional Linear Quadratic Gaussian (LQG) method makes the close-loop system do not have enough robustness, and its practicality is limited. The mixed sensitivity H controller combining loop-shaping theory for active flutter suppression is designed in this paper. It can balance both performance and robustness of system directly, while using loop-shaping method to select suitable frequency weights can obtain satisfying close-loop system performance. Because the performance of system in frequency-domain can be achieved directly through this controller, it is useful for practicing. In a typical pitch and plunge aeroelastic system, a simulation is given using the mixed sensitivity H controller and LQG controller respectively, and the result shows that the controller presented in this paper demonstrates a better performance at open-loop flutter point when compared to the LQG controller, and increased the flutter speed by 12.2%.
