Abstract:
      Based on the generalized rectangular element constructed in our previous work[1], a plane 4 node generalized isoparametric element is developed. The patch test, deformation model of the element and influence of the shape functions, etc, are studied in more details. Typical numerical examples are given to test the basic properties of the element and the results show that generally the new element has more accuracy than the conventional element.
