Abstract: |
A new kind of rectangular elements (generalized rectangular element) is developed. The coupling effect in the different directions of the displacement inside the element is considered, and the additional coupling terms are introduced in the shape functions. The accuracy of the relations between the displacement field inside the element and the displacements at nodal points of the element is approximately improved. Numerical tests show that the new element is convenient for implementation and has more accuracy than the conventional element. |
