Abstract: |
A new mathematic model of location optimization for passive devices was established and three response control indices about storey-drift angle, storey-displacement and acceleration were considered in this model. Firstly, five combination modes of these indices were presented. This paper dealt with the optimal placement of displacement-based and velocity-based dampers respectively on the premise that the number of dampers was fixed for several building models with different number of storeys and ground motions at four types of sites. Secondly, two new indices were brought forward to estimate the optimal combination mode of coefficients for two kinds of the dampers under different conditions, which can generally express the best response control. Some numerical examples were illustrated to verify effectiveness and feasibility of the new mathematic model, in which a genetic algorithm was used. At last, the optimal placements of two kinds of dampers were compared and some significant conclusions were given. |
