Abstract:
      Based on cellular automata (CA) theory, a CA simulation model named multiple random equivalent space truss model (MRETM-3D) is developed for simulation of fracture process of heterogeneous brittle material, such as concrete, geological materials and etc. The factors of direction cosine of equivalent truss member are given and the formula to determine the cross-sectional areas of the truss members is presented in the paper. Two examples of numerical test are carried out allowing completely diverse views of concrete modeling.
