Abstract:
      The crack automatic growth problem is solved by transforming a domain variation integration into the normal one using a mapping function. The iteration equations for the continuum crack propagation is formulated according to the minimum potential principle. The Matlab implementation is demonstrated for crack growth simulation by the finite element method, and there is no need of updating and remeshing the configuration. This approach has some value in engineering application.
