Abstract:
In order to capture the different responses of concrete under tensile and compressive strain space,a novel constitutive model is proposed which combines the theories of plasticity and continuum damage mechanics. This model is strain based and the same inelastic surfaces are used for both damage evolution and permanent deformation;the evolution of the inelastic surfaces is governed by an isotropic evolution law for compression and a kinematic law for tension. It is proved by numerical examples that the model can well describe the performance of concrete under uniaxial and multiaxial monotonic and cyclic loading.
