Abstract:
Many reservoir engineers have paid close attention to the streamline study. The steady-state flow mathematical model of arbitrary shaped heterogeneous reservoirs with impermeable barrier is constructed in this paper. In order to solve this model, perturbation method is employed and the solution is expanded into a series in powers of perturbation parameter.By using the boundary element method, pressure is obtained. And a streamline generating technique is presented. The advantages of the method are reducing the dimensions of the solving problem and decreasing the calculation workload, being not only more accurate but also having more general applicability. The figures of streamlines are plotted and analyzed considering the effect of complex boundary, heterogeneous and impermeable barriers.Through analyzing,it indicates that the impermeable barriers and heterogeneity have various degree influences on the streamlines. The figures shows that the streamline distributions can visual display the reservoir fluid's movement tracks between the producers and injectors,an optimum pattern and an injection strategy can be also developed.
