Abstract:
The principle of reverberation-ray matrix method of frame structure embedded partially in soil was researched.Axial and flexural wave motions in buried pile were subject to lateral pressure at the interface between pile and soil. The effects of the lateral bearing force exerted by the surrounding soil were represented by vertical elastic spring and horizontal elastic spring. The scattering matrix at joints was obtained from motion's equations and compatibility conditions. The reverberation-ray matrix for the structure was determined in terms of scattering matrix, phase matrix and permutation matrix. Thus the transient response of the structures was determined from the inverse Fourier transform. The results were checked in terms of motion's equations in time domain and wave-front arriving time.Based upon the reverberation-ray matrix of frame structure embedded partially in soil, the effect of pile-soil stiffness ratio, impulse duration, and impulse direction on axial wave, shear force wave and moment wave were analyzed. And the transient response of frame structure embedded partially in soil was compared with that of common frame. It showed that impulse direction has great effect on axial wave and moment wave of frame structure buried partially in soil, and the transient wave of frame structure buried partially in soil is different from that of common structure.
