Abstract: |
The current finite element models of cable-stayed bridges in structural dynamics are discussed. An ambient vibration measurement based procedure is presented to develop a baseline finite element model of the newly constructed Qingzhou cable-stayed bridge. Some important issues, such as the initial equilibrium configuration, geometrical nonlinearities, concrete slab, shear connection of the composite deck, and longitudinal restraints of the end expansion joints, have been clarified in the modeling of the bridge. The developed full three-dimensional finite element model is validated by the results of field ambient vibration tests. The model that reflects the bridge built-up structural conditions can be served as a baseline finite element model for the succeeding dynamic analysis,long-term health monitoring and service condition assessment of the target cable-stayed bridge. |
