Abstract:
The dynamic buckling behaviour of laminated composite beam with delamination, having initial geometric imperfections, subject to an axial impact was investigated in this paper. The nonlinear governing equations of dynamic buckling were developed based on the Hamilton principle with the consideration of beam's initial geometric imperfections, axial and transverse inertia, transverse shear deformation and the cross section's rotational inertia effects. The dynamic buckling of laminated composite beam with delamination was solved numerically by the finite difference method based on the B-R dynamic buckling criterion. Effects of impact velocity, initial geometric imperfection, fibre angle and the length of delamination on the dynamic buckling behaviour of composite beams were also investigated.
