Abstract:
A semi-infinite plane problem with an edge crack is discussed based on the principle of linear elastic fracture mechanics.Arbitrarily distributed forces are imposed upon the crack surfaces.By means of the complex variable function method and the generalized Riemann-Hilbert boundary value problem theory, this problem can be transformed into the superposition of an infinite plane problem with a finite crack and a semi-infinite plane problem without cracks. The stress intensity factor at the crack tip is obtained. This method manifests the merit of high accuracy by comparing with the results in literatures.
