| Abstract: |
| A model for determining the stiffness of stitched laminates is presented.The effect of stitch holes on stiffness of laminates is taken into consideration.The shape of stitch holes affects fiber waviness.Based on the average stiffness method and classical laminate theory,the equivalent stiffness of stitched laminates is obtained.Good agreement is found between analytical and experimental results.It indicates the model is effective.The effect of stitch holes on stiffness of stitched laminates is discussed in detail and some valuable conclusions are made. |
