In this paper,an optimal mathematical model for structural element damage identification problem is constructed by using the least square algorithm based on a new indicator.In sensitivity analysis,the sensitivity of structural vibration modes is carried out by the employment of the method of mode synthesis and the sensitivity of damage indicator is performed by the semi-analytical algorithm.And then the sequential linear programming method is employed to solve the optimal model.Numerical examples are presented to validate the applicability of the methods.
