Abstract:
      A Flexibility-based method for damage localization of truss structures is presented.Using of the orthogonal relation between the flexibility matrix and the sittiffness matrix,nodal errors of damaged modal flexibility were proposed as damage indices to detect the local damges of truss structures.A pseudo-analytical method based on matrix perturbation technique was adopted to derive the damage localization theory.A numerical simulation of a typical truss structure was illustrated to investigate the effectiveness and robustness of the proposed approach.The results indicate that the proposed method based on modal flexibility can accurately indentify the damage location of truss structures with the noisy modal data.
