Abstract:
      A solution method is presented for three dimensional node-to-node or node-to-surface contact problems with tangential sliding constraints based on Lagrange Multiplier method.The force equilibrium condition and displacement conforming conditions are directly incorporated with the stiffness matrix,thus the method can be applied to the contact problems with the geometric large deforming,large displacement or nonlinear material model.The seismic response of an arch dam with contraction joints is analyzed and the results show that the algorithm is effective and effect of shear key of the contraction joints on the open displacement between the contact surface can not be ignored.
