Abstract:
The postbuckling behavior of stiffened composite plates with delamination damage under uniform compression is investigated by finite element method. The linear and non-linear finite element formulae for both laminated face and stiffeners are constructed on the basis of the Mindlin first order shear effect theory and Von-Karman non-linearity deformation assumption, and a finite element code is developed. In numerical examples, the influences of the distribution of the stiffeners, the location of the delamination and the boundary conditions of the composite stiffened plates upon postcbuckling behavior of the composite stiffened plates are discussed. The numerical results show that postbuckling behavior of stiffened composite plates with delamination is much more complicated. The method and conclusions provided in the paper are useful for engineers of composite structure.
