Abstract:
Based on the free boundary theory and variational method, this paper presents a fast and accurate model to calculate the Unsteady Nonlinear Oil-film forces acting on finite length bearings by Rayleigh-Ritz method.Reynolds boundary condition is taken into consideration. The two-dimension problem is deduced into a one-dimension problem by assuming the oil-film pressure distribution in the axial direction is in hyperbolic cosine form. The pressure distribution in the circumferential direction is interpolated by Lagrange polynomials.Examples comparing the present method with FDM method show the results of current model is accurate while the CPU time is reduced greatly. This method can be used in the nonlinear analysis of rotor-bearing systems.
