Abstract:
With the impact of subsoil on structure modeled by a spring-viscous restraint, the random responses to earthquake of the base-isolated system is analyzed in this paper, with the earthquake excitation simulated as a smooth random process and the subsoil taken as an isotropic elastic semi-space. The influences of the site soil and damping of the isolating floor on structural responses to earthquake are discussed respectively. The result indicates that the properties of the subsoil have a direct impact on the isolated system, which is much smaller than that on the non-isolated system.
