Abstract:
      The reinforcement effect on the natural frequencies of reinforced concrete deep beam is discussed in this paper. First, the modal perturbation method based on Ritz vectors is applied to solve the dynamic characteristics of Timoshenko deep beam including the effects of shear deformation and rotational inertia. Afterward, the effects of varying steel content on the dynamic characteristics of reinforced concrete deep beam is discussed by numerical examples. It is concluded from the numerical results that the effect of reinforcement shouldn't be neglected in the dynamic analysis of reinforced concrete deep beam. Otherwise, severe error in the lower natural frequencies of the beam will be introduced.
