Abstract:
      This paper reviews the history of parallel computing for finite element method, expounds the meaning of PC Network Parallel Environment and presents a parallel algorithm for dynamic analysis on shaft-shell structure based on PC network parallel computing environment. The developed parallel algorithm includes parallel computing of the global stiffness matrix, the global mass matrix and a parallel subspace iteration method for solving generalized eigenvalue problem. The Linux operation system and PVM are installed on several microcomputers and a PC network parallel computing environment is constructed. The new algorithm is applied in dynamic analysis of a wing and a rack of a plane,and the parallel implementation of the algorithm is described. The results of the numerical experiments show that the algorithm is highly effective.
