By virtue of the traction matching technique, this paper develops a new coupled FEM EFGM algorithm for solving problems of solid mechanics. By establishing discretized equations in FE and EFG domains respectively, and utilizing continuity conditions on the interface, an incremental coupled FEM EFGM formula is derived. The proposed method is simple, effective and easy to be programmed. Numerical validation gives satisfactory results.
