Abstract:
      Based on the Biot's theory of porous media, the characteri stic of stress wave propagation in the orthotropic fluid-saturated media was st udied. The com plex characteristic equations for stress wave propagation in the whole frequency domain were derived. The analytical expressions for wave speeds and attenuation s were presented. The curves of dispersion and attenuation were illustrated. The co upling relations among three quasi-body waves and the effects of orthotropy of the medium on the stress wave propagation were discussed.
