The Equilibrium Particle Simulation method (EPSM) is combined with the direct simulation Monte Carlo method (DSMC) to produce a hybrid DSMC/EPSM method which could handle flows in the transition region between the rarefiled gas flows and the fully continuum flows. The supersonic flow past a vertical plate and a flat plate are caculated by using the DSMC method and the hybrid DSMC/EPSM method.The results show the effectiveness of the hybrid DSMC/EPSM method.
