Abstract:
      A generalized Reynolds equation based on the theological models is employed to study on the elastohydrodynamic lubrication of involutes gear by a non\|Newtonian medium. The distribution of the oil film surface shearing stress pressure and thickness have been obtained by using Newton\|Raphson iterative method. It is proved that the approach has a good convergency. In addition, the influence of non\|Newton effect upon the minimum thickness of the oil film in the process of engaging is also analyzed.
