| Abstract: |
| A discrete\|velocity model is used for solving the shallow water equations. The gas macro dynamics equations are compared with the shallow water equations and the near\|equilibrium flow method given by Nagiga is used to simulate the continue and/or discontinue solutions of the shallow water equation. A one\|dimensional Dam\|Breaking problem and a continuous solution problem providedby Thacker are studied by the present method and the corresponding solutions are compared with the exact solutions. Lastly, the simulation of the problem for water flow over a ridge is also carried out. |
