| Abstract: |
| The paper proposes a new method to analyze fatigue accumulative damage and calculate fatigue life. A gap element is used to simulate the fatigue crack form and growth, a new finite model is established by create a gap element. Then the same finite element analysis program is loaded for carrying out the second calculation, in which all nodes' stresses, strains and the corresponding amplitudes can be obtained. Finally, With all the second calculation results and a new accumulate damage rule proposed by authors, the initial, growth and total fatigue life can be predicted, And the growth length and direction of the crack can be also determined. The method would be helpful for the fatigue strength design. |
