Abstract:
Rotationally periodic structures appear often in scientific and engineering computation in analysis of spiral blades of propeller, stator of ultra-sonic travelling wave motor etc. The research in this area usually involves in reduction of computational effort by using cyclic matrix or group techniques after finite element or boundary element discretization. In this paper, the rotationally periodic structures are simplified into a number of smaller problems with help of discrete Fourier transformation in the continuous level. Based on this simplification, a computational approach for rotationally periodic structures is proposed.
