Abstract:
      On the basis of experimental observation for dynamic buckling of liquid filled cylindrical shells under axial impact, corresponding computation model is constructed. Using LS DYNA computer code, the numerical simulation and graphic display of whole dynamic process are carried out by HP C360 workstation. The buckling mode and the time history curves of impact force and liquid pressure obtained by simulation are quite consistent with experimental results. The effects of geometric and physical parameters on buckling behavior are discussed in detail.
